From the recording The Best
I wrote this song for a contest the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) held to find a theme song for its Saturday Hockey Night in Canada broadcast. I guess the track was too edgy! It was recorded in Kingston, Jamaica and features increadible studio work by the legendary Jamaican Grammy winning reggae duo Sly and Robbie on percussion and base.

Faceoff Time

Oh, I know, that you know,
And he knows that she knows,
We all know where it’s happening,
At the game, on the ice, with CBC
(CHORUS)
It’s Hockey Night in Canada,
This is the sport that I call mine,
It’s Hockey Night in Canada,
Come watch the game
It’s faceoff time
Go out there and play fair,
Keep control of the puck,
Go team go give it your best shot,
At the game, on the ice, with CBC
(REPEAT CHORUS)
Let’s watch the game it’s faceoff time,
It’s faceoff time
It’s faceoff time
At your home, in my place,
It’s easy on TV,
It’s fun for friends and family,
At the game, on the ice, with CBC,
Let’s watch the game
It’s faceoff time
