J. J. Shea music

J. J. Shea is a former Canadian Foreign Service Officer whose diplomatic postings spanned the globe, from Europe to Asia, Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean and the United States. Shea's global experience inspired his musical compositions and enabled him to record his songs in various global locations with the support of outstanding locally-hired studio musicians.

During Shea's four-year assignment in New York City he wrote the songs Liberty, New York is Falling in Love and Manhattan Girl.

New York is Falling in Love and Daddy's Car are full-production/mastered recordings done at Anchor Studios, Kingston, Jamaica. They feature Jamaica's outstanding Grammy winning percussionist Sly Dunbar.

Other full-production/mastered recordings include California Girl, recorded at Soundtracks studio, Colombo, Sri Lanka; and Liberty and By the Buffalo Harbor, recorded at Outer Limits studio, Buffalo N.Y.

Manhattan Girl, Oh Canada, I Miss You So and New York (Makes You Fall in Love) , are simple voice-and-guitar demos recorded at Caribbean Sound Basin, Port of Spain, Trinidad. They are available on Shea's First Takes album  on Spotify and iTunes.

J.J. Shea's remaining tracks featured on this site are voice-guitar-synthesizer masters recorded in Pretoria, South Africa at Nathan Smith Studios.

J. J. sings lead-vocal on all tracks and plays guitar on the acoustic recordings.

Mr. Shea is a member of the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) and an affiliate member of Canada's Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers.

J. J. Shea is proud of his family's history in the entertainment world, having built several landmark Shea's Theatres in Toronto, Canada, and Buffalo, New York. Shea's Buffalo is an American National Historic Site.
